Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we and our providers collect basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you view. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate. We do not use this to identify you personally.
Facebook content. The site can show a Facebook feed. To protect your privacy, that content and the cookies it sets do not load unless you choose to allow them. If you allow them, Facebook may collect information as described in its own privacy policy.

How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described here.
- Service providers. Companies that help us run the site and the petition, including our website host (Vercel), our petition form provider, and our analytics provider (Google). They may use your information only to provide those services to us.
- The campaign's sponsor and team. The Markley Group, as sponsor, and the consultants who run the campaign, so they can operate it on our behalf.
- Public officials. The point of the petition is to show community support to the Lowell City Council and other local officials. Your name, your town, and the fact that you signed may be shared with those officials and may become part of the public record. Please keep that in mind before you sign.
- Legal reasons. When required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the campaign, our supporters, or others.
Cookies and your choices
We use a small number of cookies to make the site work and to measure usage. The Facebook feed sets its own cookies, and as noted above it loads only after you choose to allow it. You can change that choice at any time by clearing your browser's site data, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work as well.
If you receive campaign emails, every message includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop using it for certain purposes. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as it is needed for the campaign and the purposes described above, and then for up to 12 months after the campaign concludes, after which we delete or anonymize it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. If you have opted into email updates, we keep you on that list until you unsubscribe. Aggregate website analytics are retained in Google Analytics for up to 14 months.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
This site is meant for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
